so.

once i realised that there’s no one reading this, my guilt at not posting magically disappeared. maybe if i gain some hip, loyal readers i will feel compelled to post more, but alas that is not the case. so! here is what i have been working on, with photographs, for you hungry, hungry wolves.

first, a baby hat i made for my friend’s daughter. i tried to imitate a pattern she saw on ebay, and i don’t think i fudged it up too badly. i just learned how to do the square type stitch (ch however many, connect it with sl st, sc 4,* sk 2 sps, dc, sc 2, repeat from * for as long as you have a chain). i’m quite pleased. anyway, here’s the finished product. i’m none too pleased, but we’ll see what she says tonight.

the hat

the second is a purse i’m knitting for her other daughter, who turns 3 on the twelfth. it’s red heart yarn, yeah, i know. but she’s 3, come on. just a simple garter stitch for this one, i’m not about ready to try anything fancy.

red heart!

the third is the dreaded scarf i’m making for remy, which i promised i’d post photos of when it was done. well, it’s not, and it’s not going to be for a while, since i have to wait for jo-ann’s to send me more yarn of the same type. this is done with lion brand wool-ease in chestnut and oxford grey. and i’m not going to unroll it because it is still a work in progress and looks weird. but on the whole, it’s not so bad.

the dreaded scarf

and, lastly, a new stitch i tried today. (go me!) the lion brand website calls it “alone together” and i think it turned out pretty well. i’m going to try a few more in different colors and maybe up the size of the yarn, what do you think?

alone together!

it hailed today, as is traditional of montana in the middle of summer. maybe i’m not incorrect in crocheting wool hats this time of year, eh?
